BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, has praised civil servants in the provinces for their efforts in driving the nation forward. He urged them to deliver on promises given to the people and to follow the government’s policy to further develop their areas and communities.

Gen. Prayut attended a meeting to deliver the important policies of the government to provincial governors and newly elected chief executives of provincial administrative organizations. He congratulated the new chief executives, and told them to fulfill the promises given to the public quickly and in a tangible way. He wanted to them to work in line with the government, so that the country will be stronger as a whole.

The Prime Minister said Thailand has used local mechanisms during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thailand is ranked among top countries in the world for its handling of the COVID-19 situation, and has received praise from many countries. These efforts reflect the cooperation between all sides, including local administrative organizations which must be informed of all tasks, so that the government policy can be used to further develop their areas and communities.

Gen. Prayut added that local administrative organizations must provide information to the people and help reduce conflict at this time. The government has never been stingy when it comes to budget disbursement, but it has to comply with the rules and regulations and observe priorities. A number of projects have not been approved because they lack planning or clarity. As for important issues, such as health insurance, the government has increased its subsidy to 3,000 baht per person.

This make me remember to Judas Iscariot in the Bible Or the emperor Trajan who abandoned all the conquered areas that could not be defended.

There is confusion in one Northern City, as to how a corrupt Mayor was re-elected. Social media is speculating that all council workers were required to vote for him. Pensioners in outlying districts were given 1000 baht to ensure their compliance.

Whilst you have this sort of situation allowed to happen, then there is no hope for the general population seeing their lives improving. The level of corruption that I have seen over the past 14 years is frightening, and the stranglehold these people have over a system encouraged by what is essentially a military government.
