There are basically ZERO cases of people who are in the hospital after receiving their vaccination or serious ill due to reinfection. You can still have the virus and spread it, but you won't show symptoms.

Thats why it's so important we get everyone vaccinated.

According to the health ministry here, there have been 450 cases from 800k few weeks back. Its not a lot but vaccinations are still on the early phase. So risk is minimal, but as said people are able to carry the virus even if vaccinated as well as protection against variants might be much less than main stream ones. So therefore we need to vaccinate most of people to be on the safe side.

It's just a new strain of the virus that was first identified in the UK, hence the name.  This new strain will develop (and now has developed) anywhere. It doesn't have to be imported from the UK.

There have been flights coming and going from the UK for the last year. Pilots, crew, cargo staff, diplomatic staff, repatriated Thais, tourists doing ASQ etc etc . Same as above for people from Europ

It didn't "walk in" with anyone!  It's a strain of Covid that was first noticed in the UK, but can and does develop anywhere.  Viruses mutate and new strains develop - that's why you need a new flu va

Maybe, you should update your knowledge:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/03/how-were-medical-journals-and-who-caught-out-over-hydroxychloroquine

Hydroxychloroquine helps against Covid, eg. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/study-finds-84-fewer-hospitalizations-for-patients-treated-with-controversial-drug-hydroxychloroquine

Same as Ivermectin, it is actually very helpful.

( That is, if you do apply it in its nontoxical range - and not with toxic 1000s of milligrams like in the WHO initiated “Solidarity” trials in France, Italy and the UK “Recovery”, which will lead to cardiac arrest.)

Another question, I would ask myself as concerned citizen:

How comes, that billions of taxpayer’s money was pumped into vaccine development programs of private owned companies,

- but only a few millions in studies, trials and universities to find more efficient treatments?

Hydroxychloroquine was debunked in clinical trials a while ago.

Q: How did UK variant get into Thailand despite emergency decree?

A: It's a Thai emergency degree. What? Did you think it was a serious emergency decree? Nah. Just the Thai type.

As I said: adjust your evaluation to the current scientific knowledge !

The alleged or actual negative results for Hydroxychloroquine were based on:

- fraudulent data: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/03/covid-19-surgisphere-who-world-health-organization-hydroxychloroquine

- toxic overdose:

 https://www.francesoir.fr/politique-monde/oxford-recovery-et-solidarity-overdosage-two-clinical-trials-acts-considered

- delayed use:

https://c19hcq.com

In the meantime, there are a lot of studies, proving the positive effects and safety of Hydroxychloroquine, eg.

https://academic.oup.com/europace/article/22/12/1855/5910968

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857920304258

https://www.thieme-connect.com/products/ejournals/html/10.1055/s-0040-1713152

a good summary is listed here: https://c19hcq.com

Other treatments are based on timing and severity. In prophylaxis and the early stages,

Ivermectin, Vitamin D3, Bromhexine, Zinc, Aspirin, Quercitin, PVIs have shown to reduce severe or fatal Covid-19.

Later stages require additional medications.

It's not difficult to imagine how the UK variant arrived in Thailand.  London is a favourite place for the elite to buy expensive properties with their taxpayer derived wealth, go for shopping binges and send their spoilt offspring to study.  It would be unthinkable for real big shots to be inconvenienced by having to undergo state quarantine.  Voila.

Some imagination that...  quite the Thai bashing hyperbole !

Spoilt offspring, shopping binges, all on tax payers money - which bar stool rant did you pick that up from ?

It walked in with an asymptomatic person who possibly tested negative.  Either that or it was brought in back in January and escaped quarantine.  Who really knows as they have never really been openly testing.

Or more likely that the UK variant is just a mutation of the original virus that happens naturally irrelevant of your geological location.

Not to mention Brit bashing. More likely from Paris. Far more prevalent in France than UK.

UK new cases yesterday 2491, France 39,113.

Hydroxychloroquine got "trumpized" by the left.  I suggest you go to Wikipedia, read the heavily censored article, then click the Talk page where you will discover the real hydroxychloroquine debate, and an interesting quote from Larry Sanger, Wikipedia founder, on the "neutrality" of Wikipedia articles.

How did UK variant get into Thailand despite emergency decree?

Here's a thought, perhaps the virus can't read so it didn't understand the emergency decree?
