Question about traveling to Thailand now

Featured Replies

Hey everyone!

I'm from Spain and I was wondering if it's actually possible to travel to Thailand under the current circumstances. Especifically I wonder:

  • Is it really allowed if you get your VISA and your PCR Test even without being vaccinated?
  • Then can you move around Thailand freely or only through specific areas?
  • Are the foreigners treated well or looked suspiciously as virus vectors?

Thanks!

David.

It is possible. You need to get a Certificate of Entry (COE) and will currently be expected to undergo mandatory quarantine. Once released from quarantine, there are no further restrictions on your movement around Thailand.

Thailand is a big country, with loads of different people, with different behavior. Where I live, thai people take a big turn around any falang, because they do not want to get infected by "dirty" falang.

So YES many people here see you as a virus-carrier, and the main reason why there even exist Covid-19... China is free from all blame here. Mind you that China have a full grip on Thailand..

If you can deal with the paperwork, it's a great time to be in Thailand.  Well....other than right now.  But even now, you can find great deals in lovely spots to just hunker down until this current wave is behind us.

Best of luck!!

Would you like to say where you live? I have never had any problem with Thai people taking any big turns, not even when I was in Pattaya or Bangkok.

I ask the same question I found this on Facebook, so i'm wondering if I do my quarantine at BKK after can I go see my girlfriend at Surath Thani without more quarantine?

It's very hard to found a good source of information !

Thank You !

When I get a seat on the BTS people next to me now sometimes get up and move away from me.

2 times I wanted to enter an elevator and Thai people already inside quickly closed the door before I could enter (BTW I do the same).

Plenty of unmasked farang in the streets (sometimes next to their masked TGF!) clearly showing everybody who is to blame for covid.

I know that's not true,  but the impression these guys give (usually men, usually from loud-speaking cultures) is devastating.

Thais usually won't act up in your face, though.

Really ?

Here 6 years and never had that happen.

I'm not trying to be funny but are you frightening in some way ?

You should have read my post.

I wrote "now".

It didn't happen before (and I have ridden the BTS quite a bit more than just 6 years).

Point taken...but I ride the MRT and BTS and still nobody avoiding me...

My word after "now" was "sometimes". It's really only some times,  but it wasn't only once.  And it is such an obvious humiliating behavior that it was impossible to overlook
