hey guys just wondering if anyone has had any different reaction from Thais ref this new outbreak they are calling UK strain ..even tho is thought to have come from Cambodia id heard  ... any way im used to the Thai people having a dislike tor foreign people in this country the double standard the over charging ect im begining  to put up with it but today had my first upfront piece of xenophobia at a local market today where i shop most days spend a lot of money here each month supporting the locals..but today i was told that i shouldn't be here Bring covid  this is the most racist country ive ever been in and ive traveled extensively for 50 years..just wondering if anyone else has noticed ..

They are ignorant, today at Makro cashier and security were spraying their hands excessively when i approached, maybe falang only, maybe everyone

In response to the OP, yes, I have had a totally different reaction/experience to yours, 180 degrees in fact, every day that I've lived here. I hope that helps.

Most Thais look at me with suspicion and yes I've had a few spray themselves with alcohol after being near me, but when my Baht comes out good feelings seem to resume.

this morning walking by massage shop some beauties came out and said "'hello handsome"" it made my day 555

I have not seen  nor experienced any such issues as described by the OP.  Maybe he is being a tad paranoid.

Thai’s ‘can be’ outrageously racist and xenophobic....

I have never experienced that level of negatively from any Thais.  At the most, on rare occasions, I have experienced  indifference, or ambivalence, but never outright racism. Frankly, I have seen them treat each other much worse than I have ever been treated as a farang.
