Headset issue with Laptop

Featured Replies

My wired headset isn't working for some reason with my laptop now. It's not the headset itself and I have deleted the USB driver and plugged the headset in again but always no luck even after restarting.

All my windows updates are fully updated as are the drivers. I'm at a loss as to what to do as everything I've seen on the internet I've followed but to no avail.

I am using windows 10 and Oker wired gaming headset. I've sent an email to Oker and reported my issue to Microsoft but I am not hopeful.

Any IT wizards out there experienced this before (my speakers work) and then troubleshooter says there are no issues with my headset. I'm thinking it's a configuration or conflict issue perhaps as it was working fine before.

Thanks in advance.

It could easily be a defective headset jack.

Headset jacks are pretty flimsy, I've had to replace one in my laptop and one in my TV.  A repair shop can do it pretty quickly.

Do your headphones work when plugged into another device?

Thanks all, I checked the headset and it worked on another laptop.  Next step I guess is to try a different type of headset in my laptop and then check the laptop USB port.

One Q I do have - do USB drivers automatically install from a wired USB device?

check the laptop USB port

Adding this to your response implies that the headphones plug into a USB slot. Is this correct?

If so, try another USB port on the laptop. Most laptops have more than 1.

HI Gargamon, I tried that already but no luck
