The equipment, which uses thermal body scanners . The system also scans faces and transmits data back to a central database using 5G connectivity.

Going to Koh Larn was as simple as paying 30 baht and getting on the boat....Its been that way for 50 years.....They now want a temperature check OK fair enough the self serve ones seem to work pretty good in 7-11s and malls......

What's with facial scans and gates and thermal scans for the short short boat ride to Koh Larn?........Hey this is not a 12 hour flight but a 20 minute boat ride....Do they think someone might try and hijack a ferry?? Or what?? I don't get it...

And any bad guys who want to avoid the cameras will just hire a speed boat for 200 baht...lol

i just read locals have voted to close the island to tourists for 2 weeks

Good idea....Keep all those disease ridden domestic tourist out, they are only about 3 weeks late.....I guess they want to almost starve themselves out again......

Are the immediately 'arrested' if above a certain temperature, tested for covid and then potentially placed in a field hospital?

Good idea.......anyone with a fever can't really go anywhere now.....

All hotels, resorts, guest houses, and other areas are to remove non-residents by tomorrow (May 4th) and may not accept non-residents for stay.

Local residents may not travel or leave the island and there will be 100% access control. (Unless there is a necessary need to leave.)
