Deputy met commander and RTP spokesman Maj-Gen Piya Tawichai told Sanook that the Tha Kham police had arrested a 53 year old man after a shooting in a taxi outside Big C, Rama 2, west of the Thai capital Bangkok at 7.50 am yesterday.

The victim was a 19 year old woman who was romantically involved with the assailant.

A citizens' arrest was made before the police were called.

A 9 mm gun, ammunition and 10 spent cases were found.

The media reported that the assailant had followed his girlfriend onto a bus where an argument ensued.

She got off outside Big C and he followed. She tried to get away from him and got into a taxi but he caught up and shot at her multiple times.

She died from her injuries. He has been charged with premeditated murder and weapons offences.

Sanook surmised that jealousy was at the root of the case.

Wow.

And the gun came from?

The taxi drivers hearing should be returning next week.

Always interesting when no name is given for the assaillant. Usually means he's someone entitled to protection.

Will look forward to the pointing and re-enactment.

19 year old woman

didn't even BEGIN to live ...    kids are soo dependent on their parents.   It's right about 18+ where you START to make the separation, but it's really in your mid 20's where you get it...

one of the worst ages to lose your life......

Our local shop, last year very similar shooting at a 7/11 nearby, another jealous bf gunning down a girl. Well done those who apprehended the <deleted>. Only hope connections don't get him off with a laughable punishment, nothing would be too harsh.

Just another case of the frail Thai Male ego getting the way of rationalised and normal thinking process.    RIP the Young Lady; of course she shouldn't have ever got involved with him but doesn't mean she deserved this result.

Why can't people just let go... plenty more fish in the ocean.

Was it because he lost her, or he didn't want anyone else to have her?

Thai TV last night reported that the girl's mother had been shocked to learn that her 19 year old daughter had been involved with the 53 year old man for 7 years. Do the math.

OMG if that's true, she has just grown up and going to grass him up! No name for a protected guy.

Just another piece of dog <deleted> with a fragile ego who deserves the death penalty, but sadly will get life and be back on the street to kill again in 7 years. I just don’t understand why there’s hesitancy to put murderers to death.  Can anyone honestly tell me this poor excuse of a human being deserves to continue living?

Let's not forget the Asian loss of face, it's very powerful and is painful to those who have lost face. But of course is never a valid excuse for any form of violence.
