A big thank you for swift & smooth process to take care of new British Passport, this ageing Brit did not fancy 2 trips to Bangkok plus paying each step by debit cards etc. Took advantage of Thaivisaexpress all in service, excellent, I made one payment online they emailed all forms with clear instructions, I just had to send completed forms by ems along with old passport to thaivisa & that was it, very friendly phone calls to me confirming each step in process & ems post to me about 5 weeks later, ( I would suggest start process 2 months before expiry of old PP) & the PP - - It's NEW, It's Blue & It's NON EU !

As I understand it from 2 years ago a British passport holder must apply in person, the new passport can be collected by a representative, and there is only one payment to be made, that is on application, there are not multiple steps to be paid for.

Not correct on the application process.

I used a Pattaya based agent to apply for a new UK passport in January 2021, mainly due to the travel restrictions in place at that time. I filled in the forms (application / credit card payment), signed the authority form. paid their fee (5k baht) and they arranged to deposit the application at VFS (together with sight of old passport plus copies) and collection of new passport after 7 weeks. Worked just fine.

That is the special wording used on the website, fooling you into thinking you have to do it yourself.  When they say "in person" they actually mean "by a person", i.e., not by post.  from the website;

Making your application

You must apply in person. If you’re unable to, someone else can go on your behalf.
