May 30 was a Sunday. The death tolls reported for Sundays are always much lower than for other days. And as someone else pointed out, Thailand hasn't yet had day that had that many deaths. More relevantly, on a per capita basis, Thailand's covid 7 day average mortality rate is still below that of the US.

"and the seventh day shall be a day of rest".  The virus is Christian! ...... probably presbyterian, or "wee free" to us Scots.

The delays are real folks.

The first shipments of AstraZenenca COVID-19 vaccine from Thailand's  Siam Bioscience to the Philippines have been delayed, an advisor to the president told

@Reuters in Manila

This will raise further doubts about the @AstraZeneca #COVID19 vaccines produced in #Thailand by royally-owned Siam Bioscience, which is supposed to deliver its first batches for the start of mass rollout here next week.

Reuters has confirmed what we all knew all along. Siam Bioscience has not been able to meet its timeline vaccine production. Delays will be to local quotas and international quotas.

Ouch. On a national scale these daily numbers are just pitiful.

The delay raises questions about AstraZeneca's vaccine distribution plan in Southeast Asia, which depend on 200 million doses made by Siam Bioscience, that is making vaccines for the first time.

Joey Concepcion, a presidential adviser who has been coordinating vaccine procurement with the Philippine government and private sector, told Reuters that AstraZeneca had told him delivery of the first batch of 1.3 million doses would have to be pushed back from the third week of June to mid-July and also reduced to 1.17 million doses.

First AZ vaccine from Thailand to delayed - what’s fascinating about this is there has been zero news in Thailand, where the company Siam Bioscience is based, about any delays. In fact there’s precious little info anywhere about how the company is doing.

Think yourself and Thailand to be very lucky, can you just imagine the cluster <deleted> that would prevail if Thailand was at war with one of its elite military neighbours.

Yes, fortunately according to the PM speaking today, the country is very well prepared for that eventuality and will be even better prepared once his budget is approved. It seems it’s top of mind at the moment. ????

Not sure what you're banging on about...US deaths are still about 500 a day (7 day average 638) and just reached 131 yesterday. Thailand's have NEVER been over double digits...never more than 50 in fact.

Actually, US only has 131 reported (for the 31st of May).

Well that's odd. All my pals said the same thing without exception which differs from yours. 1 test on arrivals day, another test after 5 days and a third and final test 1  day before release. Now why did you only have two in a 14 day quarantine ? Do you think it has something to do with which hotel and hospital has the arrangement ? If not then where is the uniformity of testing requirements ? Perhaps its changed as these 11 came in betweenn Sept and Nov last year, all stayed in BKK. I would not be surprised however if the ASQ charges remained the same yet the testing protocols become more relaxed in order to increase their margins further. Your thoughts on these disparities ?

I was in quarantine for 10 days.
