So you think that mitigates buying 60 million AZ that they have never bothered to approve.

Bottom line is they deprived other countries, Thailand being one of them, of that 60 million AZ doses.

Of course much easier to blame the Thai government for the AZ delays.

No Vaccine has yet been approved by the United States ( testing in all of them is ongoing), the WHO , the EU, and the UK have all approved it. You can get the AstraZeneca Vaccine in the US if you request it ( it was an option I had when i went in for my shots, but I chose Pfizer ???? ) . The US gave Astra Zeneca $1.2 Billion  to help develop the vaccine and also Bought 300 million doses 60 Million of which they are already shipping to countries where the vaccine is approved along with 10's on millions of Pfizer and Moderna  Vaccines. To be Honest if I was in a country with a lesser infrastructure I would  have chosen AstraZeneca or Sputnik over  Moderna or Pfizer, just for the Cryogenic storage requirements of those latter vaccines, I can just see a Lab assistant putting  the vials of Moderna in a regular freezer along with other vaccines and possibly ruining the batch then discovering their mistake  quickly popping it back  into a cryogenic freezer with no one the wiser ???? , or possibly leaving the vaccine in a fridge overnight exceeding the 5 hour  window and again ruining it ( a lot less controls outside of Big cities). Not sure where your "easier to blame the Thai government for the AZ delays"comment came from, you must be muddling up your threads here!  cheers ????

Pretty dismal day, dipped below 100,000

Time to break out the defibrillator before this rollout/plan flatlines.

Authorized and Recommended Vaccines

Currently, three vaccines are authorized and recommended in the United States to prevent COVID-19:

Pfizer-BioNTech
Moderna
Johnson & Johnson / Janssen

Authorised in not approved!!  they are Authorised for Emergency use! Astrazeneca has not completed their testing and thats their own fault!! otherwise they would be approved for Emergency use as well ????   https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine
