please advise : how soon to renew my visa ?

Featured Replies

i have been here since april 5th 2021 on thai spouse visa ( they gave me 3 mths visa )

usually how long before the expiry of the visa should i go and extend it at the immigration office ?

thanks alot ^^

At some immigration offices you can go 30 days before it expires, at some 45 days.

I would recommend to just go at least 2 weeks before it expires, if there should be any problems this leaves you with enough time to find a solution.

I assume you entered the country using a non-o visa based upon marriage to a Thai that allowed a 90 day permit to stay when you entered the country.

What type of extension of stay (visas are not renewed or extended) do you want to apply for?

If applying for a one year extension you could do it now if you have 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

If applying for a 60 day extension you could do it about 2 weeks early.

Here is my list of required documents. Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf

You will need a letter form the bank confirming you account and the balance on the day it is written. You will need your bank book updated and copies of it showing the 400k has been in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.

You can apply for another extension year after year. You will need the 400k baht in the bank for 2 months for every extension application.

The fee for a extension is 1900 baht.
