Featured Replies

Anyone used them recently? Any problems, time taken etc.?

Thanks

Rhys at Assist Thai Visa did mine the other year, quick service.

Renewed my passport via VFS in March.

Booked appointment, no problems, documents checked and details noted, in and out in 20 minutes.

Collected passport 4 weeks later, in and out in 5 minutes.

Thank you, any particular docs? Cost?

Email: [email protected]

All details on the HMPO site where you make the application.

From there contacted VFS via HMPO.CM@vfs helpline.com which, if I remember correctly, was given on the passport website.

Costs as shown on the website and paid by credit card to HMPO, nothing extra to be paid to VFS itself, all payments to HMPO.

Received an email and phone call when the passport arrived.

Yes used them twice (for others) The only problem is the price. Easy as it can be. The passport holder does not even have to attend  BUT YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT and it is a small window.

Used them in February good service . Clear instructions from the website recommended

We used them about two months ago to renew our young daughters passport found them very helpful.

If you have any questions regarding requirements you can email the UK Passports office.

Again very helpful and prompt reply

Passport renewal soon. Anyone know if it's OK (or not OK) to bring my smartphone with me to their office?

I want to use it to call Grab.

Thanks

No, you’ll get arrested for that

VFS Website....

Mobile phones are permitted in the Visa Application Centre, but they must be switched to silent or vibrate mode. They should be switched on before entering the Visa Application Centre. Devices that cannot be switched on cannot be taken into the Visa Application Centre.

Under no circumstances is photography, filming or audio recording permitted. Mobile phones have to be put away when you are dealing with our staff.

Aaah....now that's a reply I definitely can use. I admit, I didn't see this anywhere on their website - will try to find it.

Thanks 😁

Regarding the post from Upnotover:

In Bangkok VFS ( presumably same at CM ) not allowed any sort of electronic item other than smartphone. Smartphones used while waiting allowed, not while being attended.

I had a USB flash drive removed from my bag and if you are on your own you can only leave it on their table and hope it is still there when you come out.

Yes, now seen on their website. Many thanks for the link - much appreciated.

Thanks, too, to Andrew Dwyer for the info - great!

Cheers  😊
