Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana: Prayut’s new defender

As the new spokesman of the Centre for Economic Situation Administration (CESA), Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana’s first job was to defend the government’s relief measures for people affected by COVID-19.

 

His opening move was to dismiss claims that the measures favoured wealthy people, insisting their aim was to reduce living costs and stimulate the economy.

 

“I call on all sides to understand that [Prime Minister] General Prayut [Chan-o-cha] is speeding up assistance to the people,” Thanakorn said on Tuesday (June 15), just days after he was appointed.

Reduce living costs for the Hi-So's and stimulate the economy so their companies could make more money....there fixed that comment.

Transfer wealth from small and medium business to "blessed and anointed" big box stores deemed "essential."
Put the small and medium business "out of business" so they no longer compete with "blessed and anointed" big box stores deemed "essential."
Destroy the tourism industry.
Destroy the lives of an entire swath of lower and middle class Thais fully dependent on tourism.
Open tourism to benefit "blessed and anointed" businesses who are connected and deemed "essential."
Give the commoners a little bread, but keep the circuses closed and call it "New Normal."

Could well be true, and he also needs to be ready for numerous changes of course and policies and priorities, confusion and lack of coordination and efforts by Anutin to get back into the picture, etc.

This has happened across the US as well.
