Thailand's Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin yesterday appealed to employers of migrant workers not to move them across provincial lines.

There is a fear that by so doing there will be more spread of Covid-19.

He stressed that a decision made earlier this month allows for those granted work permits up to the end of last year to stay until September 13th.

There was no need to shift employees as they were legally entitled to remain in their jobs.

Apart from risking the spread of Covid moving employees could constitute breaking other infectious disease regulations and the emergency decree, he warned.

He urged employers who needed to move their migrant work force to go through official provincial labour channels.

The rest should remain in the province where they were originally registered, reported Daily News

Suggest for many employers that warning was already too late as they were tipped off.

Surely he knows they are moved because government imposed lockdowns of camps mean companies lose their workforce?????

do you really want someone to answer that ?

New workers to replace others so the jobs can continue. Surely more will be imported.

Too late I would suggest. Mass exodus I would think is now underway whether by employers or just people not wanting to be put in a cage for a month. Another well thought through policy by the empty heads. They are hanging on to dear life that the economy must be considered without actually seeing that their policies may well end up ruining that very economy. Public health system collapses it will take the economy with it. The much avoided full locked will have to be imposed. Tourism of any form will be off the cards and the country will be led into possible ruin at the hands of one person.

How's that for being a 'doomsayer'.

Why would the " Employers " ( read agents ) stop moving the Migrant Labour around.

They do not care if the Migrants are Legal or not, and openly place Labour into Camps with no work available to them through legitimate channels.

The Migrant Labourers then have to find the work themselves, as all the phone numbers on the Tin sheds will attest too.

These people are modern Day Slave traders, and no better than that,

And not move them across the boarder from Burma, coz that's where they're all from.

They really do think they are a master race don't they?

Wonder if they actually know what the rest of the planet actually thinks of them?

Thais can't do it, that's the issue.

The problem is that construction workers are slipping away right now, before the sites are closed on Monday. So, a population with high infection levels is dispersing from Bangkok.
