Any Farungs in or around Amper Li (bottom of Lamphun)?

Featured Replies

Greetings!  My Thai wife and i just moved from the islands, to a village in Li that is 10 minutes from a farm we own.    I'm hoping to meet a foreigner(s) that is familiar with the area and can share insights from a "Farung Perspective".  Happy to meet for a cup, lunch or chat online.

No longer live in Lamphun, but spent several years there.

No idea how corona has affected life/ businesses there, but anyway...................

Restaurants along the river are nice.

The very old temple is worth a look

Some decent night markets different nights of the week

The big Buddha temple on the hill is interesting. They opened an immigration office below the temple so no need to go to Chiang Mai for extensions, unless it's closed since I was there.

Loads of furniture factories in the rural areas surrounding Lamphun

The drive along the old road from Lamphun to Chiang Mai is worth it to see the big trees that line it.

That's about it for the delights of Lamphun.

A nice day trip is to the temple that was in one of the Rambo films. It is above the temple of the footprint. Google it for location.
