He just does not want to make the tough decisions.

Too busy at home in his Yellow pajamas in a foetal position, watching reruns of Hogan's Hero's and binge eating Skittles in the dark, hoping it all goes away.

That sounds like a good promotion idea for an AQ hotel.

shut up. do not spread panick. most deaths in europe happaned in the first few weeks

of the pandemic. now the worst is behind us. there are vaccinea and they are the solution.

They would be the solution if Thailand obtained them and distributed them speedily. Given the bureaucratic swamp I've just endured to obtain a pink card, permit me to doubt distribution will be faster than the new infection rate. The worst will be behind us when the infection rate starts falling significantly. It's still rising.

some idiot decided that even though you are not sick and do not really need medical attention, you should still be hospitalised.

well this idiot is soon going to be humbled and realised that assymptomatic infected people

should quarantine at home and not get to hospital

Tell that to the dustmen, road sweepers, postmen etc.

My reply was merely in reply to nightfox's post, which said ' asking people not to travel and work from without reinforcement.'

I was pointing out that he missed the word HOME from his post.

when i say that the worst is behind us i mean us on the global level. there is better understanding now of the virus and how it works. even the human bodies learned it and cope

with it better. so just relax everybody and enjoy life. thailand is now going to get what latin america got last year, and in the end of the process it will be left with some stable rate of

daily infections and deaths. ce la vie

Partial lockdown measures imposed in and around Bangkok from Monday

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) imposed a number of partial lockdown measures on Friday, including a night-time curfew and a ban on gatherings of five people or more in Bangkok and five nearby provinces, to come into effect on Monday (July 12th), to curb the continued surge in COVID-19 infections and deaths.

People from the capital and Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Prakan are urged to refrain from travel or from leaving the house between 9pm and 4am, said CCSA Assistant Spokesperson Apisamai Srirangsan.

Working from home is encouraged, while interprovincial travel is discouraged. Convenience stores are required to close from 8pm to 4am. Only some parts of malls are allowed to open, only until 8pm, such as supermarkets, restaurants (with no dine-in), banks, pharmacies, electronic shops and vaccination sites. All spas and massage parlours are ordered to close. Parks have to close at 8pm and public transport must stop operating between 9pm and 3am.

No curfew but then what does this mean

Significantly, people in the maximum control zones will be asked for their cooperation in not leaving their homes between 10pm and 4am.

if its not enforced then what is the point, even worse if its arbitrary enforced.  Love to see more clarification.

9 NOT 10

running currently at 0.003%.. that's pretty scary stuff right there..... wonder what death rates from heart disease are like

....

One the figures are highly suspect in Thailand and two I suspect you are quoting crude rather than case rate fatality.

This is absolutely pointless asking people not to travel and work from without reinforcement. If they were serious about doing something that will actual help the situation they can start with cancelling all inter provincial travel like buses, trains and flights.

Maybe they are waiting for the numbers to hit 20,000+ cases a day before it registers in their head that Houston We Have Problem!

so no transport trucks either?

How would you stop these ?

Are the drivers tested prior to leaving and when arriving at destinations ?

Have had a few direct deliveries from Bangkok, and told no checks on route .

If only COVID was just a flu variant.

The flu does not incapacitate patients for months. The flu does not start turning up in other organs, such as heart muscle and the brain. The flu does not become more infectious, it attenuates and yearly vaccines can deal with it easily. COVID is unknown territory.

While I can understand overreaction may become tedious for some, minimizing this pandemic is not a good thought process either.

does these facts of yours apply to pneumonia too ?

which attacks the lungs and breathing, which gives long term health problems, necessitates time in ICUs with breathing equipment,  and kills many more people in Thailand than Covid ?

From memory, my pneumonia vaccination is done every five years or so. I don't know if they vaccinate for pneumonia in Thailand.

Don't think I want to keep a tally of look over there posts on this thread, I might run out of fingers and toes.

These new restrictions are not restrictions at all - the only thing I read that was a solid directive was the Mall closure - the rest are just discretionary lip service and mean absolutely nothing

It is not sounding like a duck in any way shape or form

fail

It's an up to you lockdown and keep quiet about going out after 10, total waste of time which will make no difference

they do, and my mrs got it in BKK at my request last month as a backstop for the lack of covid vacc, she since got her 1st AZ shot last week.

I got mine as a pneumonia survivor a few years ago, it was one dose, I am not aware of my dose longevity, but the doc in BKK said her jabs are a course of three for life. Sorry I can't give you a vax brand name, but I do know its available.
