Bangkok: Major Cineplex closes five theatres until July 25th

Major Cineplex announced they were  five of its movie theatres in Bangkok with immediate effect until Sunday July 25th as a Covid-19 prevention measure, reported Daily News.

 

They are at Ratchayothin, Rangsit, Pin Klao, Sukhumvit and Esplanade (Ngam Wong Wan - Bang Khae Road).

 

Within the malls certain facilities will remain open such as restaurants (for take out and delivery to homes), pharmacies, supermarkets and banks, reported Daily News yesterday.

All movie theaters were already closed in Bangkok and throughout Thailand months ago. I don't understand how Major is suddenly closing theaters that are already closed? What is the impetus for this announcement by Major and this story in ThaiVisa/AsiaNow? This was like 6 months ago
