PPTV 36 reported on social media posts from a hospital in the Rama 2 area of Bangkok that showed Covid-19 patients waiting and lying around amid a mountain of trash.

The disgraceful scene made many people think that they were trying to get into the hospital but couldn't for lack of beds.

The pictures were widely shared on social media.

Reporters went to investigate and found that the incident took place on July 10th, though T News quoted a security man at the unnamed hospital as saying it was a daily occurrence.

It emerged that hundreds of people had been marshalled in an area where they would be taken to so called "Hospitels" - hotels being used to house Covid patients.

But there had been heavy rain slowing down vans that were carrying 10-12 people at a time.

Taking refuge from the rain many people, tired of many hours waiting, had been unable to sit or stand and decided to use items like boxes flattened out to lie on the ground and wait their turn to be transferred.

The hospital concerned promised to smarten up its act, reported PPTV.

Do not pick on the people working their buttts off and saving lives. Just because it is easy to blame them.

The problems are all caused by incompetence at the top. By the supposed four generals of this apocalypse.

is that contaminated waste spilling out of the red bins?

it's easy just to blame others.  The hospital could have quite easily arranged a better location .......   simple really   !!

Easy as a simple order and Covid-19 issues are fixed, as consumately demonstrated daily by the Hero General. What will be will be.

Sorry Steven have to disagree, your idol is the person responsible for the dire situation Thailand is now facing.

Stupidity of not cancelling this years songkran, was the major reason for covid getting out of control, people leaving Bangkok with the virus spreading it all over the country.

This man claims to be the leader here, he is not fit for use.

Hopefully the Thai language version of this sad mess is more on the mark with facts and explanations from those in charge?

You seem to have an answer for every failing...

If it was so simple... why didn't they?

I don't think it's up to our good PM Khun Prayut Chan O Cha to organize a decent and proper facility/area at the Rama2 hospital for these poor individuals.  He probably knew nothing about this issue. It should be arranged by the head of the hospital, it is his responsibility.
