I believe it's your watch, but then again, I'm no expert, but sounds logical and or the hospitals blood pressure monitors are out of whack ?

No, I think the equipment is working fine; many people using on both occasions and I used two separate ones and the doctor accepted the situation without making special reference to my watch. Measurements were taken from both hospital and my monitor at home which is a good make, representing a 50% best machine in a poll I saw, of varying at-home BP equipment. I make the point that both hospital and at-home readings are consistent with each other in wearing my watch or not.

Something is going on for sure. And if it turned out that there is real substance in my experience (maybe with my particular smart watch), then it is good that others can be alerted to it - another reason for my original post.

Thank you for your continued interest.

They make a pigs ear of mine every time.

Blood pressure check before having a filling at the hospital.

It's bloody stupid!

I complained many times,  blood pressure before a dental appointment, its just a money spinner

Blood pressure readings can change from one moment to another moment .....  i have my own BP meter , and i can assure you the reading  can jump up and down from moment to moment , example after eating is always little higher than before

Normally the Blood Pressure falls after eating, the larger the meal the bigger the drop.

The middle reading is always the third reading so why waste your time taking 4th and fifth reading? Just curious.

If I take the best of 5 readings the one that is the median is not always the average value. Besides if the third reading is the highest then the median will be wrong.

I am not a Doctor, but those readings are just on the edge of normal and almost certainly some adjustments with diet should lower it.  If it continues to rise then, seek professional help. It is well known and perfectly possible to lower blood pressure from improved diet and exercise regime without medication but you have another underlying condition that may have a bearing on all of this.

Just google "best things to eat and best things to avoid" and follow that as a guide.

This thread got me curious about my blood pressure as I haven't measured it in a while.

Lo and behold, it is 149/90!!!!

It has definitely gone up since covid, I suspect due to inactivity and <deleted> diet. My blood pressure was always a bit high since I was a kid, probably because I was always stressed. Before covid and lockdowns it used to fluctuate between 125 and 138. What surprised me is that at least before even when blood pressure spiked up, my lower pressure would always be normal. Not anymore.

Should I go on the meds?

Well,  you should get your BP down. Whether you need meds fro that or can do it by life style changes (exercise, diet, stress management) is an individual matter.

As per my advise the prior poster: you should definitley get your BP down.

If you can't do so through diet etc alone then yes, meds. Especially given your diabetes.
