Necro-posting in the News forums

Featured Replies

Could something be done to reduce necro-posting in the News forums?

What happens: Some threads will be two weeks, or even a month old—and completely outdated—and some doorknob will appear and make a post, to say something entirely irrelevant... which bumps the thread—among all the recent and actually relevant news threads.

Solution: Maybe anything that isn't relevant or is unimportant, posted after for example a week of no activity in a thread, could be deleted?
This would result in much cleaner News forums.

No... the News sections being filled with dead 1-month old threads because some idiot posted something irrelevant and bumped up the thread, is important.

if you say so!

Important to whom?

Certainly not to those running a site as a business.

did you even notice there is a "sort by" option?

you can sort the threads by the date they were started.

Maybe the "owners" are the ones doing the bumping!
