We do not know, and never will, what happened in Wuhan !

Sure we do.  We know how severe the restrictions were on people in Wuhan during the shutdown, e.g. one family member could go out of the house once every other day for a couple of hours to get food for the household, etc.  Very strict, but also very effective.  By the summer of 2020 they were holding mass parties in water parks in Wuhan, because the virus was eradicated.

If the truth were substantially different with hospitals overwhelmed and a shortage of coffins, etc. then we would have known just as we know that never happened in Thailand even if we don't fully trust the numbers reported by the Thai government.

For July 20, the Chinese government reported 65 new cases in the country.  That is not the return of the pandemic; that is just a blip that the Chinese government will manage.

The virus came straight over the border. What is happening was inevitable. So you want to stay locked in your house for 6 weeks and rely on government deliveries of food? No thanks...

Are you joking?  Who wouldn't accept 77 days or so of home confinement to have a latest report of new cases to be 65 as in China on July 20, compared to 13,635 in Thailand?

You said it was false.  You prove it.  As said, I would not trust anything the Chinese said.   The very fact you have a nation reporting it has the same level of Covid infections per million as the remote Marshall and Soloman Islands is testimony to how specious their numbers are.

All the world, is but a stage, and each and everyone but an actor, Donald Duck has left the stage now, geriatric ,Joe, is reading from notes, Vaccine companies are now saying /vaccinate pregnant women and children over 12, today in Fiji ,2 pregnant women died after been vaccinated, they saved the babies by casiserian . RNZ news today.

Thailand is in a dilemma, but I do not think the advised one worries.

Stop arguing ,the virus is everywhere. My guess it will taper in the next 6 months or, we will owe big pharma the world.

Strange analogy. They did choose the horse and now they are asking the horse to do something. Why do you think they chose the horse?

Hm, because that horse ain't a runner to produce apples could be an option. ????

Basically asking for a handout to the billionaire business folks.

Since the government won't why not donate money towards mRNA vaccines.  Once everyone is vaccinated they'll be making billions in profit once again while paying sh** wages.

There have been comments here to the effect that China was able to halt Covid in 77 days.  Sadly, this is far from the truth. There are ongoing outbursts of Covid in many of China's provinces, but the official News Agencies have been instructed to censor all reports of them.  I receive frequent messages on WeChat (using VPN to evade censorship) about new Covid outbreaks.  However, authorities are at least giving these localised outbreaks rapid attention and essential treatment.

To think that anyone or any one country can eliminate the Covid virus is to misunderstand the nature of viruses.  This position may be reached at some far distant date, as a result of worldwide collaboration, but until then,  the virus is alive and well.

it was actually two large hospitals and 16 field hospitals.  That was a year and a half ago.  Supposedly, all those hospitals have been mothballed since April of last year.

What’s the truth?

Who knows.

That's the argument that Tegnel and Giesecke were making for Sweden when they defended their policy of no controls which lead to the current total of 142 deaths per hundred thousand compared to 15 for Norway.  Vietnam has a current total of 0.35 Covid deaths per hundred thousand.

The Vietnamese government has announced strict controls in several areas.  I expect that they will control the outbreak because they will do whatever is necessary to achieve that goal.

Why always compare Sweden to Norway in this argument, no one can beat Norway a very rich country that looks after its people. Compare Sweden to England and they have half the deaths per capita last time I checked.

If you have no symptoms. You MIGHT have Covid -19 and not know it. Get tested ASAP and help us inflate our cases numbers and ruin lives by extending lockdown further.

This is a dream, it's also a dream for China.

A Wuhan style lockdown would destroy the country completely.  The government in power needs to find the money it has embezzled and filled their pockets with to return it to the people and then buy the needed vaccines.  They need to support all individuals that they have disenfranchised, its the only way or Thailand will be no more. Yes a little over the top maybe but truth be told unless they start to help all they are in for a world of hurt.  As The great and honorable PM said " What will be will be " so it really sounds like he doesn't give a sheet

Ha, it'll be a warm day in hell before they do that,

returning money?

Thailand?

No one does that...

Nanjing is in total lockdown even as we speak.

Not true.

Health authorities in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, have begun testing the city's 9.3 million residents for COVID-19 after a group of airport workers tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.

Nanjing authorities said they will test residents in all 11 districts of the city as soon as possible and told people not to leave the metropolis. Anyone wanting to leave the city must present a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 48 hours.

The Nanjing education bureau has notified after-school tutoring groups to suspend classes. Cities near Nanjing, such as Suzhou, Wuxi and Xuzhou, have ordered all residents who traveled to Nanjing in the past 14 days to immediately report to health authorities for nucleic acid testing.

IMO whoever is tasked with righting the ship that Covid monster has a huge challenge straight into a severe

head wind that many if not all countries are fighting. Many will be burnt at the cross ( be blamed) for each

and every failure along the way. No countries or very few had/have the right formula as a cure all for others to follow.

I’m not a Trump fan but if he would’ve harnessed Covid before leaving office ... he’d probably be on his second term...

July 22 news China's Nanjing city has started mass COVID-19 testing of its 9.3 million population and suspended a subway line as the city faces the latest local coronavirus cluster in the country.

We can all have our thoughts of how to solve this on what’s gone wrong and fixing it..  I would not want

to be at the helm during these difficult times in most countries in the world...

US has a new challenge with breakouts on the rise again... let’s hope for everyone’s sake Covid gets under

control quick..

What is a Wuhan style lockdown.  Announcing that you have contained the Covid 19 and misrepresenting how many people were actually infected?

No, it's what it says on the tin "a total lockdown" people were not allowed to leave thier apartments or houses for the duration, food and drinks brought in daily. Everything closed down, all roads in and out secured.

Time to check again on per capita.

UK deaths per million = 1,888

Sweden deaths per million = 1,482

Your half the deaths is somewhat off base.
