BANGKOK (Reuters) -Thailand on Sunday extended tighter containment measures in the capital and high-risk provinces probably until the end of August in a bid to slow the spread of COVID-19 as the country deals with its biggest outbreak to date.

SRT’s Red Line offers free trips during soft launch

237 food processing factories certified for COVID-19 Prevention Best Practice

BANGKOK (NNT) - 237 food processing factories have been certified for their “COVID-19 Prevention Best Practice” compliance since September 2020, as part of the Ministry of Commerce’s measures to build the market’s confidence in the safety of Thai food exports, according to Malika Boonmeetrakool Mahasook, Advisor to the Minister of Commerce.

Bang Sue station successfully cracks down on vaccination booking corruption

BANGKOK (NNT) - Bang Sue station Vaccination Center has warned the general public not to be fooled into paying for COVID-19 vaccination registration, after a successful crackdown on offenders in the present case. Mingkwan Wichaidit, the Director of the Institute of Dermatology who is also running the center, emphasized today that all people are eligible for vaccinations without any cost.

Border security reinforced to prevent illegal crossings

The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has decided to extend current semi-lockdown restrictions, due to expire on Monday, for two more weeks and to expand the COVID-19 “Dark Red” zone provinces put under these restrictions from the current 13 to 29.

Donated Pfizer vaccine passed to Thai government on Monday, some medics eligible for shots

1.5 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, donated by the US government and which arrived in Thailand last Friday, were handed over to the Thai government this morning (Monday), with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha formally receiving it from the US Embassy in Thailand.

Survey shows most Thais seriously concerned about the worsening pandemic

A vast majority of Thai people still have serious concerns about the worsening COVID-19 pandemic. The level of happiness, among people in Bangkok and the newly designated ‘dark red’ provinces, has decreased by 2% from June, according to a survey conducted by the Hakuhodo Institute of Life and Living ASEAN (Thailand) in collaboration with Socius.
