webfact
Picture: Daily News Daily News reported that the Facebook site of Dao8Chaek had a 47 second video that caught the moment when a police lance corporal was shot while on anti-riot duty in downtown Bangkok on Saturday. They had a stillshot of the moment Nitinai Khrongsom was felled. An xray showed what police said was a .22 bullet lodged in the officer's neck. It was removed after surgery at the Police Hospital and the officer is now recovering. It happened at Ratchawithi Soi 6 in the Samsen Nai, Phayathai area of the Thai capital. The injured officer asked for protesters to spare a thought for the police and protest peacefully. He said he has a family to go back to and a mother and father. He said that he felt blood but didn't realise at first that he had been shot. He was scared but just doing his job saying that police would not fire first. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-08-09 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Sydebolle
Thai Rak Thai = translates into "Thais love Thais" - quite evident it seems ....... One side is expressing its frustration over the endless government-sponsored raping of the country while the other side is full of all those "just doing their jobs"? 2

steven100
probably an air rifle/ slug gun as they are called. He shouldn't be scared of these protestors as that's his job to uphold law and order. He's a damn policeman for god sake.
Popular Post spidermike007
There is no question that the police are on the wrong side of history here, and have very little sympathy for the youth, change, progress, or upsetting the status quo, their apple carts, and their local franchises. My sympathy is incredibly limited.

Popular Post Rookiescot
Luckily this seems to be an air rifle pellet. But having said that no-one should be shooting anything at anyone.

My sympathy is incredibly limited. It depends. During the 2010 riots my policeman brother-in-law was sent down from Red Shirt country to boost police numbers and control the protesters. And when he went off-duty he donned a red shirt and joined them. Hence the term water melon police at the time. The farmers now seem to be in the same mood as the young and would happily see the government toppled - I haven't heard of even one person in my part of the country saying otherwise, so expect the same trek to the capital we saw back then.

But those weapons are not used until a warning has been given to those holding an illegal gathering and subjecting the security forces to catapult launched projectiles as well as the use of airguns. I'd say the security forces are justified to retaliate. 1
Popular Post DefaultName
Judging by the x-ray, this penetrated his neck a fair way. Is it really important if it was a firearm or a BB gun? He got shot, this was a bad thing. Edited August 9, 2021 by DefaultName
