Don't really understand the rise in cases...but with most people vaccinated, the serious Covid illnesses and deaths should remain minimal.

Probably because the number of tests has increased.

The more tests you do, the more positive asymptomatic you will find.

Going to the limit, if they completely stopped testing asymptomatic patients, the number of positive cases would drop sharply to that of the few patients with symptoms admitted to hospitals.

That is, what has always happened with the flu every year.

In fact, with a high percentage of vaccination, that number should be kept low.

I'm not saying that mass testing should be stopped; I was just assuming what may be the cause of the current high number of positives.

It would be interesting if, in addition to knowing the daily number of infected, we knew the daily number of hospitalized patients with symptoms.

Hospital admissions of red, yellow and green have all gone up in the last few days/weeks, from the OP link

The report marked that of the COVID patients in care 34 were designated as ‘Red patients’ (zero change); 316 were designated ‘Yellow’ patients (zero change) and 551 were ‘Green’ patients (+154).

My take on why numbers have gone up is purely the strain, Delta has finally taken hold of Phuket.

If green patients are asymptomatic, or almost asymptomatic, that means that, although the number of positives is actually increasing due to the greater number of tests, despite this there are no new serious (yellow) or very serious (red) patients due to to vaccination.

That is, in terms of reopening Phuket, we could use the data of seriously admitted instead of the infected.

While they were worrying about the foreigners coming in which required a lot work they forgot about one thing?  Their own they were trying to vaccine their residents in Phuket but forgot the rest of the population once they heard it was opening guess where everyone who wanted a job headed majority unvaccinated the reason the government stop travel into Phuket?

Totally agree !

Basically all vaccinated people can get infected with asymptomatic or relative mild symptoms and can infect other people without even knowing it .

The Virus is there and some when we all going to be infected .

Pandemic is already getting endemic .

Important is to be vaccinated to avoid hospitalization or worst .

Rest is nonsense at this point ....
