Less than 50% of hotels, restaurants in Hua Hin awarded SHA certification

As Hua Hin gears up to reopening to vaccinated foreign tourists, Hua Hin Today understands that less than 50% of eligible businesses in the town have received the Safety and Health Administration (SHA) and SHA Plus certification.

 

The SHA and SHA Plus certification was created by the Tourism Authority of Thailand to help ensure COVID-19 preventative measures and help build confidence amongst Thai and foreign tourists who visit tourism related businesses such as hotels, restaurants and attractions.

 

The main condition businesses are required to meet in order to qualify for the SHA and SHA Plus certification is that 70% of a venue’s employees must have received a COVID-19 vaccination.

why not 100%, who dreams this stuff up - crazy

 

 

This is because the businesses are failing to meet the SHA and SHA+ standards with staff having not yet been vaccinated.

So is there a list of qualified hotels that can be booked for this program?

What are the other details such as how do we get to Hua Hin from the Bangkok airports?

And I guess some government muppets will need to come around to check and certify your place. I'd imagine that this can be sped up if you know how to grease the wheels, which might explain why some hotels get certified sooner than others.
