snoop1130 Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Hua Hin Airport. File Photo Flights between Hua Hin and Phuket could be operating in the near future, according to Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. As reported earlier, a meeting held last Sunday (Sept 5) saw plans formally revealed regarding the reopening of Hua Hin to international tourists from October 1. In addition to the announcement on the proposed reopening, other news of significance to come out of the meeting concerned the possibility of more flights operating from Hua Hin’s currently underused and underutilised airport. People are not coming because Thailand only has a few places open, they are not coming due to restrictions of entry. Spread the butter any further and the bread will just be dry 1

spidermike007 Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 It is about time they put the most underutilized airport in the nation, and likely the world, to work. We know why it was not used much before, and that no longer applies. So, what gives? It is an ideal location for regional flights. Use it. Man up. Do some real work. Make things happen. We need some adults in the room. 1
Scrotobike Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Fiddling with nonsense. Now is the time to push vaccination (old/sick first not the "whatever" sandbox), get the hospitalisations of really sick people and then deaths down, plan for 100% opening up of the country - not to tourists only but also to Thais. A one off big bang with lots of government spending to kick start the local economy. Just cancel a few jets, submarines and "official" holidays - sorry I mean - trips abroad. All helps.
