CHAIYAPHUM, Sept 29 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ordered concerned officials to adjust their water management plans in response to flood situations.

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said Gen Prayut made the order while inspecting flooding in Chaiyaphum province where runoffs caused by Storm Dianmu from the Phu Laen Kha mountain range flowed into the Chi River which overflowed into 16 districts of the northeastern province.

The Chaiyaphum governor reported local situations to the prime minister who then handed out bags of essentials to flood victims from Muang and Chaturat districts.

I know some people up there and them would wish him had spend all that money him used on this show of his face trip and spent it on food and water for the people in the area instead , all that money would probably be enough to not have anybody go hungry to bed to night but in good Cha Cha spirit a show trip is more important than the people , keep up the good work Cha Cha ☹️

But, but, but - He said no flooding !!!!  Wasn't mother nature listening to the great omnipotent cha cha ??

I am so relieved that the pilot didn't take the opportunity to do a barrel roll with that open door.

After the middle finger salutes and 'hia' greetings he got at his recent flood inspection I'm surprised he's got the nerve to show up again.

Someone has a King Chanute complex....  “No more flooding”...

.... erm.... “Hia....  Floods, go back”...

... erm... “Hia.... it was all a misunderstanding”

Is it time for a crack down on flooding ?

Thailand to become the new hub of flood control measures ?

How is all that water going to be punished for bringing the reputation of Thailand into disrepute ?

I can feel a flood committee comming on.

When did Prayut say "no flooding"?

His translated comment that I read:
"water situation this year "not worrying" as in 2011"

If you have a link to Prayut claiming there will be no flooding please post it.

Especially in a red shirt stronghold like Chaiyaphum, he's really not at all popular here...

Priceless and clueless.

Maybe that's why he's taking photo's from up in the sky.

This is about as close as I can get for now.

The headline "PM: No Flood Worries This Year" is not what what Prayut said unfortunately people here keep repeating it.

In that article you linked to Prayut is saying: "Flood situations this year were not as severe as that in 2011"

His actual statements in Thai can be found on Facebook:

"...water situation this year "Not worrying" as in 2011, however I have ordered continuous surveillance until the end of the rainy season."

A bit late now, it was about two weeks ago. Do we now have another poster who may decide to put the unelected PM on his avatar? :cheesy:

Why too late? Is the current situation the same as 2011? Honest question.

Two weeks ago he said:

It was true then.

Just because I believe in honest reporting of the news, regardless of who the story is about, does not automatically make me a fan of the PM.

A bag of food, maybe enough for a couple of days, how magnanimous of our great wonderful leader, as with his boss the richest in the world. last time i saw one of these bags it contained what i feed my dog, tinned fish and rice.
