Renewing my non-O based on marriage ext in CM, 30 or 45 days ahead?

Featured Replies

Some offices allow submitting extension renewal package 30 days and some are 45 days before extension expiration.  Anyone know what CM office timing is?  Could not find in internet search.  Thanks in advance.

Unless it has just changed it was 45 days before when I did it last year.

I did mine in Chiang Mai on the day of the  year's expiration. My "consideration stamp" required me to return in 45 days for the real extension stamp.

In the past, I have done the extension process 30 days early.

I just renewed my extension of stay in CM.  It was 40 days before the expiration.  So….. I can confirm that CM accepts them 45 days ahead of time.

Cheers!

Awesome possum everyone, thanks!  As I remember you get an "under consideration" stamp to return in about 30 days, correct?  Planning to fly for a 10 day trip to Phuket after I get paperwork filed and get the extension stamp after I come back but prior to expiration of previous extension.

I believe the new “under consideration stamp” is the driving force which renders the old stamp technically void….
