After meeting you and your dog a few times they will be fine. Absolutely. I've been around a lot of dogs over the last few years and I've never known them to kill one another. They'll have a scrap over mating or territorial rites but they rarely do each other any harm.

Yes, there are dogs like that and I have met them. Even had to kill one of them. That is what I am concerned about with these. I've dealt with plenty of soi dogs.....these guys are different and I'd die if I let them kill my little girl. She's as happy and sweet as they come.

Cheap to run, good off-road. A quad-bike would give you the same freedom as your motorcycle, it's high up so would keep your dog out of reach... plus four-wheels would keep the Soi dogs away as you ride along, good off-road and on dirt tracks/sand. Good around town too, easy parking and cheap to run. Comes with a multitude of accessories such as racks/baskets

I would imagine they do, many manufacturers like Yamaha/Honda and other Asian makes too. price-wise I think around 50,000 should get you something good, maybe more if you want to go top-notch. Certainly cheaper than a car. Just google search ATV's in your area. Just an idea... glad to help.

chilly07
We got a DMax with a Carry Boy on the back for our dog. It has sliding windows so he can stick his head out in four places but not jump out. Whilst me and my son were available to help him jump in and out this was ok (he weighs 35 kilos) Now son is in UK and dog is too heavy for me. So my wife has got a strong dog cover for the rear seats as she thinks he needs A/C! So a wasted Carry Boy! 1

No offense, but that's a shame. My pup loves me unconditionally. When she is older, she would, without hesitation, give her life for me. I have a couple of wonderful human friends. Yet even they would not fit that description. 2

Had my dogs in the back, who have all since passed, when I drove down to the beach. The restaurant dogs considered it quite fun to scratch the hell out of the bed, as they could see my dogs, and I could not drive fast down that road. A few times one almost made it into the bed. So even if I bought a pickup, little Jing would be inside, not in the bed. Otherwise, I like your idea! A lot of the NVs have a car-boy type cover on the back. and or you could put a large dog cage on the back. Anything available for under $10,000? Why are you using the $ symbol? You are talking about Thailand right. Its a bit daft to be honest. jak2002003
OP I am sure if you take you dog down to meet the other dogs they will be fine.. You seem too over protective. I have 2 tiny chihuahua dogs and a poodle mix and every day take them out for a walk, run and we meet many dogs, street dogs, temple dogs, packs of dogs, pet dogs running out or driveways. New areas the dogs will bark at first and some chase or charge at mine, but never bite. My girls are well socialised and know how to interact with other dogs. Once been through an area a couple of times they stranger dogs don't bother and some even become friends with us and join us on our jog for a while. The dangerous dogs are those that are kept in isolation from other dogs as they don't know how to act around their species. As the dogs at the restaurant are free roaming they will meet other dogs and be socialised. If you go with yours on a lead and they know the dog is with you they will just bark and act up a bit at first then all will be ok. Once you go a couple times more there will be no issues. Do you let your dog play and run about with other dogs?

So that would leave some brand of car under $10k, or I'd just go with the truck. if they kill her on a bike, why will they not kill her on the back of a pickup truck? What kind of dog is she, and how big will she grow? Unless she will grow to be huge , a small hatchback (5 door) car with the back seat down will do fine for those few times you will be taking your dog to the beach . While we were back in the states , we maintained a Mitsubishi Mirage here in Thailand for the times we visited. We sadly sold it when we gat back full time and got an XL7 , Big mistake , Though we love the XL7, the Mitsu was a great little car , that never had a problem, took us everywhere and was very easy to drive and park in the city. With the back seats down you would be amazed at how much cargo it could hold. Your dog will be happy back there, and so will be your bank balance. You can pick up a used one for a couple of hundred thousand baht, ot a new one starting From THB 474,000. If you don't like Mirage plenty of other hatchbacks on that price range. Go to the different dealers and take a look.

On that subject, the bike thing would be too low and easy got at, so to speak, the larger pick up style bike and obviously actual pick-ups would be too high for dogs to reach easily. The hatchback is a good idea, thats what I use for our 4 ! We have a Toyota Yaris, drop the seats, put the blanket over the area and the 4 of them are quite happy. So one on her own would be plenty.. Good used Yaris 2 -3 yr old about 360k , new around 600k. (depending on actual model)
