Before I leave Thailand to visit USA, can I confirm my re-entry back to Thailand now?

I'm on a 2-year Smart Visa which expires mid next year. Now that the borders are opening, quarantine hotels reduced to 1 night, and finally have 2 doses of Pfizer, was hoping to make a quick visit to the USA for a week in December. 
 

Is it possible to confirm my re-entry back into Thailand before I leave? Or does that all have to happen while I'm overseas at a USA consulate?
 

You could start the Thailand Pass application before leaving and then complete it while in the US.
