COE question - transit flights

Featured Replies

I'm filling in my COE form part 2, what should I put for this question? Flying from Heathrow on 06/11/21, landing in Singapore on 07/11/21, and finally to Phuket on 07/11/21.

LHR > SIN

SIN > HKT

Do I put both flights on as transit flights? Just want to make 100% sure I get the paperwork right. Thanks.

I would say LHR is a departure flight not a transit flight.

Seems SIn would be your transit/connecting flight.

That's logical, but Thai translated into English is sometimes faulty.

From their viewpoint, they might regard SIN > HKT as the arrival flight, and LHR > SIN as the "transit flight".

Anybody do it differently, or should i go with bkk6060's advice?

I believe you're right. As far as I remember you have the flight to Phuket earlier in the form.

I first put both flights here, and that gave an error. Then, I wrote only the first flight here.

I think the answer lies in the fact you need only specify a transit flight if not on a direct flight.

I would have interpreted it that way and didn't have a problem. If I remember right you have to refer to that flight again later on.

RED FLAG WARNING

1.  COE is obsolete

2.  Singapore does not allow transit passengers at the moment.

If you are still filing the COE, the transit flight is not the flight arriving in Thailand, but the other flights prior to that. I know that doesn't make sense to most, but that's what I found after three rejections.

1. Not until tomorrow and if you have one already it can be used until the 7th.

2. They do now.

Thanks Lee, I've gone with your suggestion and put the first flight only.

Thanks ubonjoe, I got an email from the London Embassy confirming those dates re the COE.

Singapore's transit rules are here, they do allow people to transit. One thing to watch out for is this rule:

Quote

Take a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test

Travellers, including Singapore citizens and permanent residents, transiting through Singapore will be required to take a pre-departure Covid-19 PCR test within 48 hours of the scheduled departure date of their flight.

You only have 48 hours from the time of your test, rather than the 72 hours that Thailand requires.

I came through SIN three weeks ago on a COE.

The first flight is considered the transit, and the HKT flight the arrival. Does not make sense but thats what they want.

Connecting flights ARE allowed through SIN (with certain restrictions….especially the prior to flight covid test 48hr rule).

Cheers

Your Transit flight number is the Heathrow plane #

Your transit date is 07/11 in Singapore

That’s pretty tight given that UK testing is pretty s41t. Watch out for the “next day” claims, next day usually means close of business the following day so you could wait 36 hours for a next day result.
