Concur. I have been doing it +only+ since 10 years - the only change has been the requirement to show the bankbook again after 3 months.

I might add that when you renew, they could check whether you have complied with the condition to also retain the 400kbaht for the rest of the year... I have no confirmation of this, as I just leave the 800k in there untouched in a FD account, so it is apparent.....

Has anybody been asked to show balance back beyond the 2 month 800k  pre-seasoning?

It will be interesting to see what their next change/s are, and when.  It will not stay the same forever.
