Lost and Found Passport - Urgent advice required

Featured Replies

I would like to request the help of this group with my current visa situation it is complicated. On October 28 is this year I was due to renew my visa.  I could not find my passport. I followed all the recommended procedures regarding lost passports including reporting to the police. My password was then cancelled by British authorities So far so good.

I subsequently found the passport. Having previously reported the passport lost. I immediately went to the police station and filed a second report. I am now in a situation. Where I have an expired visa Which was due to be renewed. On the 26th of October. I like you guys, right? That was an oversight on my part. I thought it was the 28th. And a passport that the British authorities tell me. Cannot be used. The Thai lawyers I was working with tell me that my passport is now valid again even though I have direct contrary evidence from the British passport office. Almost everybody I speak to about this suggests I need a visa agent. Yet I have never used one, despite having lived in Thailand nearly ten years. Frankly, I do not trust anybody that offers to help me by wanting details of my bank account, my ATM card and my pin number.

I apologise in advance if I have left out vital information. Thanks for reading. Can I please get some sensible advice from this group? Thank you for your help.

Use your found passport as if it was never lost.

It's validity will only ever be checked if you enter/exit the UK (and maybe the USA).

Go to immigration tomorrow and pay the 15 days overstay and get an extension.

Don't mention the lost and found to anyone.
