Besides having a QR code, the Australian Vaccine history certificate can have the passport details of the holder easily added to the document. Can be Australian passport or the passport number of folks who are Permanent Residents of Australia.

 

Plus where the vaccine details and the passport details are present authorities abroad (e.g. passport officers) can use the QR code to open the full details and get a facial recognition photo to compare to the face of the person standing on the other side of the passport desk.
