a top Royal Thai police spokesman has told his compatriots about the evils of gambling.

We should believe him. After all, it is the RTP that either runs many of the illegal dens in this country, or at least frequently collects lucrative "donations" from them in exchange for turning a blind eye. It is thus surely in the best interest of the RTP to prevent legal casinos.

What took them so long? legal Casinos are the best money makers any one can have, it's like a factory for printing money, this country have many illegal ones who rakes in billions every year so com'on Thailand get on the "lets make our people even poorer" and start casinos all over the country..

Money making, the very reason the BIB are involved and critical of legalising it.

As a fact there is only a small fraction of player in the world that have or creates a gambling habit that leads to e problem. Here we are talking about 0,4 - 0,5 % of all players.

Get real........Most people who gambol lose......

And for the winners?.......Nothing makes you want to gambol more than winning....So in time most winners end up being losers too.....

To make this simple virtually every single person in time become a loser except the Casino...

Casinos benefit society  absolutely ZERO....No one benefits except the Casino ,casino employees, casino suppliers......EVERYONE else is a loser even the winners (in time)..... And any taxes will just disappear down a black hole like all taxes do.....

Thailand has done well without casinos....Even though there are some illegal casinos...

What are you on about? When did I say that casinos are made for people to win? I work in the industry since 15 years back in time. Here it´s definitely you that has to get real. Casinos are made for people to loose as the house always has an edge and to player only has a possible RTP, that tells a fictional chance of winning. What I was posting was that casinos are to be seen as entertainment.

Most of the worlds players can handle their gambling habits, hence I stated that the percentage of people with gambling problems or gambling addictions within the player society is only about 0,4 - 0,5 %. So, to make it easy for you, about 4 - 5 players out of 1 000.

The problem is the the Thai society has a much bigger percentage of gambling problems and addictions. Something that is not to be blamed on the casinos. Here it´s the mentality of not own up to responsibility and everything must be fun (sanook) first.

What you are trying to state is that my figures are wrong, because everyone that play eventually lose, right? But, that does still not make it a problem for 99,5 % of players that have control over their gambling habits and not play for more than they can afford to lose. They already new the possible outcomes and look at gambling as entertainment. To make it easy again, same as you when you turn on the TV.

So, when you are saying that casinos do not benefit society at all, you are dead wrong! It fills a great purpose and pleasure, excitement and entertainment for over 99 % of all players.

After that you are talking about taxes going down a black hole???? Yes, sure they do, but is anything of that to blame the casinos? Have you taken a look at Thailands tax system? How many business pay the right amount of tax? How many should pay tax, but do not even register? This is not to blame the casinos for. It´s the whole system about laws, responsibility, rightfulness and control from unbiased authorities that needs a re-vamp.

I am an occasional gambler. I have been to a few casinos over the years in various countries.

I work out exactly how much money I can loose and stick to it. I don't chase my loses and when I reach my limit I walk away. If on the odd occasion I win I still walk away thinking I enjoyed that.

Vegas was the best because they gave you free drinks when you were playing and I worked out long ago that playing sensibly I could drink more in money terms than I was loosing. Result a slightly <deleted> me who actually saved money on my bar bill.

I would love the Ambassador to open up as a casino but only if like Vegas you had free drinks.

I have found that drinking and playing sensibly did not work out. I suspect many have that issue. I stay clear of gambling, it takes advantage of people....
