Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system

Recommended Posts

On the 15th of September  i tried the online 90 day report for the first time.

I received back an email confirming Thai immigration had received my notice of staying longer than 90 days on the 15th of September.

On the 16th of September I received a second e mail with a notice of rejection. The reason was that my TM 30 was last registered in Bangkok and not Chiang Mai.

I have not travelled  from my present address for 4 years .

On the 17th I went to Chiang Mai Immigration office and the notification went through no problem .

I never mentioned the rejection made online .

What "notification"? Do you mean you provided a TM30 notification or do you mean you provided the 90 day notification?

The sensible thing to do is update your TM30 address. This, like the 90 days, can be done online.

No need to update, as I mentioned I have not been anywhere out of my present abode for 4 years.

I know the TM30 is good for many years as shown by the 90 day report going through without problem on the 17th.

Just the  computer saying no for some unknown reason on the 16th

don't know what they are trying to achieve by making this in person simple task vastly more complicated, I can only assume it is spite as it makes no logical sense, my 12 month extension is easier - go figure

Have to echo your experience. My recent annual extension much to my great surprise was much simpler!

...but as you say it was last registered in Bangkok... so your TM30 is currently wrong.

Why on earth did you not simply hand in the TM30 form at Chiangmai so from now on you'd be able to do the 90 day online? You say there is "no need" to update but you literally offer up a reason in your own story: you were unable to complete the online application.

And, at least in Bangkok, they always check your TM30 when doing a yearly extension, so what happens in Chiangmai?

The TM 30 receipt is inside my passport obtained at Chiang Mai immigration.

I think there computer is wrong.

I am going by Chiang Mai immigration next Monday .

I will check how they could of decided I am in Bangkok.

Thanks for your reply

At some time did you stay at a hotel in Bangkok? Good chance they submitted a TM30.

I have not travelled out of Chiang Mai since 2020.

I decided to make a new TM 30 notification  online.

I can call in and obtain a receipt through the week

I began to think why I can be registered to be living in Bangkok and began to think the agent I used for two years located in Bangkok must have done it when I asked him for a receipt for the 90 day reports so I could do the reporting in Chiang Mai .

The agent said ok but I have to do one more for you after obtaining the yearly extension myself in February this year .

He sent the receipt for the 90 day report and I did the next report myself with out any problems .

It was only on the latest 90 day report I attempted to do the notification online which ended in rejection but went ok the next day going to the immigration office.

I have used the online system for my last five 90 day reports. I have to say it’s the best thing since sliced bread! So far, I’ve had my confirmation within 48 hours of submitting them.

My last report was submitted 3 days later than the required date. Amazingly I received my confirmation within 30 minutes after I submitted it.

I made a link to the login page, added it to my browser bookmark bar and edited the name as the date for my next 90 days. This way, I have a constant reminder to complete my next one.

It’s great not having to go to immigration at least for reporting when I can do it from anywhere 👍🏾

You used an agent, and therein lies your issue.
Your extension was obtained from an IO where the agent had 'connections'.

In this case from Bangkok from the sound of it, so you were registered at some 'bogus' address in the Province where the extension was issued.

If you look at your extension stamp, it will state which IO issued it.

To now file 90-day reports at CM where you actually reside, you need to file a new TM30 with CM.

And that's what I have done as I explained in the first paragraph.

I did the notification online last night. Now I must go in to the immigration office and ask for a receipt.

I will not bother asking the agent what happened.

Alls well that ends well

You first successfully registered on the TM30 site, then submitted and had it approved?

If approved, you can print a receipt off or take a screenshot.

OK, now i have a printout on A4 paper and a screen shot

Is the print out just the same as a receipt from the immigration office?

The next time you do something at immigration, they may require you to exchange your TM-30 printout for their TM-30 receipt.  Your printout allows them to look up the record, and verifies you did the required report.

Ok, I can take the printout when I do the next 90 day report .

For peace of mind I could also take a trip to immigration this week and ask for an official receipt for placing in my passport.

Been a lot of hassle to stop using an agent.

Thank you for your reply

I had a similar nightmare years and years ago, first Non O with extension with agent  - 15 months and a big price. Done at CW I left Immigration and the next day noticed the stamp issuing office was Chachaengsao  (120 kms southeast of Bangkok ). Fortunately I did not have to do 90 day reports working outside Thailand 28/28 rotation. Renting in Bangkok, and arriving from abroad, occasionally an IO would ask "where do you live"  writing my Bangkok address on the TM6 and him looking at a Chachaengsao Non O Extension stamp obviously he knew.......live and learn do it yourself !!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Good morning forum,

I have twice submitted my online TM47 report and it got rejected both times,

"Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected.

Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately."

nothing has changed since the last time ,middle of june2024, when my online TM47 was successfully submitted.

I have recently extended my NON O Thai wife, expiring October 31 ,but this year i received  an earlier date October 16 to return (consideration period as they call it).

So this morning i resubmitted my online TM 47 by changing the date of extension expiring to October 16 instead of the yearly Oct 31.......see if that works!!

OR the two times rejection has to do with that 90 days from now on (roughly January 2) is further ahead than my Oct 31 yearly extension validity?

any help will be appreciated
