Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
I don't believe this is true, as long as government agencies, eg immigration offices, are not eqipped to accept cashless payments. Is this topic about CBDC? -

Trump Haitians here is the link
Deporting immigrants would have a negative impact on the US economy: https://carsey.unh.edu/sites/default/files/media/2024-08/economic-impact-mass-deportation-lit-review.pdf But Trump doesn't care. He just wants to stir the pot and generate fear amongst the credulous in order to get elected and avoid prison. He has no discernible policies to promote and is just banging on the same old drum to appeal to anti-immigrant and racist sentiment that is rampant within a certain demographic in the US. The other element of his support is the 0.01% who don't want to pay taxes or have their companies subject to the types of regulations that make the US safer, cleaner and healthier. -

Thailand Welcomes 26M Tourists, Rakes In 1.214 Trillion Baht
Cheap mass tourism has turned away quality spending tourists. The solution should not be add more cheap tourists to make up for the shortfall in income. Disgraceful, and an enviromental disaster. -

Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
I DO think the whole “digital” payment universe is here and here to stay.. it won’t go away .. it is only going to get bigger.. to me the larger question is how big and how fast will that be? That said, I think there’s a lot of fairly big “issues” that will need to get addressed before it can really be seen as a primary, long-term and viable payment option on a national basis.. but I do think there’s groundwork has been set… For example, a) system integrity/security (ie what about breaches and losses from a breach?), b) system reliability (what if the larger system goes “down”?), c) speed (you have to be able to complete an e-payment transaction at minimum in the same time - or less - as a cash based transaction), d) data privacy and integrity (how and how will all that transaction data be stored, how long and who will have access?), e) the “unbanked” (you’ll have to provide a channel for those who don’t currently have any qualified bank account, to get one) f) hardware (what about those without a suitable phone or device? and lastly g) education.. you’ll have to invest the time to educate those who are just not familiar with digital payments. -

Udon Thani bar street will any survive virus closure
I'm planning on spending two nights in Udon next week. the posts above paint a bleak picture but that was pandemic time so understandable. I'm looking for a hotel walking distance from a few restaurants and bars. What areas of the city should I be looking at? THX -

Harris Lies, Americans Die. Illegal Aliens are more Important
MAGA Republicans are now lying about the federal response to Hurricane Helene in much the same way they lied about Haitian migrants bringing chaos and disease to Springfield, Ohio. Both disinformation efforts are flat-out lies, and both are designed to demonize immigrants. Immigration was the issue Trump was so eager to run on that he demanded Republican lawmakers reject the strong border bill a bipartisan group of lawmakers had hammered out. -
