I rarely feel side effects from medicine and am able to plough through the day whatever I'm on but these antibiotics have made me extremely drowsy and lethargic!!!....

Anyone felt the same from norfloxacin? Hopefully I can snap out of it cos have 3 days to go!

"Norfloxacin may cause some people to become dizzy, lightheaded, drowsy, or less alert than they are normally. Make sure you know how you react to this medicine before you drive, use machines, or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy or are not alert. If these reactions are especially bothersome, check with your doctor."

See here and take note of the Precautions section.

Thanks. Do you think I can get away with a couple of drinks tomorrow night?

I'm not a doctor so cannot offer qualified advice, but it is usually advised to avoid alcohol when taking prescription medicine.

Perhaps @Sheryl could advise?

It will make matters worse. Not advisable.

OK sure. If I'm still feeling drowsy I'll steer clear

But it doesn't actually interact or lessen the effect of the medicine?

It does not lessen the effect of  the drug. But it may increase the side effects.
