A fire destroyed three older, ramshackle houses made of zinc/sheet metal in Banglamung yesterday afternoon (December 29th). The resulting smoke could be seen many kilometers away, causing concern from many residents, social media, and even TPN readers.

Firefighters were notified of the fire at 1:00 P.M. at a housing community in Nongprue composed of various zinc, sheet, and metal houses, many temporary. Fireteams and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find local residents escaping from the fire, many in a panic.

The fire was heavily ablaze upon arrival and it took more than half an hour to control the inferno. Three older houses made of zinc/sheet metal were completely destroyed. According to nearby residents, these structures were primarily storage buildings and not residential dwellings.

the advantage of metal is in most cases it helps to spread the fire due to that is heats up very easy. and that make metal homes or container homes so dangerous.

also metal bar snaps without any warning. wood is more friendly and last much longer under the same fire conditions
