Some 360 householders at the Sirikan housing estate in Bang Yai, Nonthaburi really like their security guards.

So much so that they donated more then 200,000 baht in cash and many gifts of food and clothes to their trusty guardians.

A Facebook page said that houses on the estate contributed 1,000 to 3,000 baht each as New Year presents.

Chief of the security team Narong, 63, said he had worked there for 20 years and thanked the residents for their generosity.

Householder Prasit, 80, told Daily News they were a great bunch of guys and deserved their new year gifts for their hard work.

Nothing wrong with that we tipped our security guard 2000 too.

But its a bit different in our case as he only has to handle 2 houses nothing more so we see him a lot.

Up our way it's a Bottle of Beer and two Home Made Buns for each Man !

Nice to see this appreciation of the people lower down the social ladder. Congrats to all concerned

Nice for the guards... honesty does pay.
