Yes, unlike this soldier who is in charge today. At least Thaksin was elected.

Thaksin is the only PM who won a free and fair election, not just once but twice and he was removed by a military coup.

Yingluck also won a free and fair election and in 2014 called a second election. Under the rules  the PTP were a caretaker government when this lot took over by force. The election which had been called in 2014 was actually held in 2019 which was won by the current lot after taking a month for the results to be published, the third largest political party was disbanded (and over 6 million younger voters were dis-enfranchised) and the EC had changed the rules to allow micro parties to gain an MP (provided that the MP supported the government coalition).

Thaksin was as corrupt as any "leader" before and after him. But Thailand was a more free and better place then.

Smartest leader Thailand ever had. Yep, he dipped the till just like the rest, and?   Nearly every Thai I know would take him back in a heartbeat.

  • A mentally retarded goldfish would be smarter than what we've got at present.
