Popular Post Top man
Hi everyone, I always look and listen to posts on here and my experience is the people who complain about Thailand are the people who live there. My little story is a bit different. 13 years ago I went to Thailand to end it all, after getting off the plane and 3 days later I realised life is special, the Thai life appealed too me, to cut a long story short, now back in Thailand I have a lovely daughter, unfortunately not with my wife anymore my love for her will never die and to the haters of thai women.......it was all my fault......what I'm trying to say is with tears in my eyes, if people have the financial gains to live in Thailand ,then do it, unfortunately for me my living is in London, I'm a London cab driver and I have to go back to a country I can't stand anymore, what with its political <deleted>. People say Thailand is corrupt, well thank god people are starting to see how corrupt the west is. I really wish I could write properly but to the expats who live back in Thailand I will say this....come back to the west for even a holiday and trust me, you will never complain about Thailand again, as for me I really think its over. My body is now in London but my heart and soul is back in Thailand and you can't live a life like that. God bless all..... 12 2 4
Popular Post alextrat1966
If your dream is living in Thailand, work hard for it, and someday you will make it here. Nothing beats the feeling of being wherever you want to be. And yes, I agree with you. Many people complain too much about Thailand for mere trivial matters. 12 1
Popular Post The Hammer2021
I hear you mate. I had your experience in 1990. A rebirth. An epiphany. I had to leave to make enough to return on holiday 3 times a year for ten years then retire here...Its dreadful what has happened to the UK..I know what you mean...Good luck getting back 6

I like London ...... I just can't afford to live there as a pensioner. Was back there in 2016, borrowed a pals bedsit near Kensington Gardens. 600,000 pounds for a fourth floor bedsit where you can touch all four walls from the middle ....... madness. 6 1

I live there in SE London but it's expensive in the centre/West end but fun. Nightlife becomes inaccessible at times. The suburbs are fun in the summer but when winter sets in its a bit grim. The ideal is 9 months here and 3 months there..but covid stopped that. When I return home its both unnerving and reassuring that my same mates are in the same Pub in the same seats...

I, in all honesty, NEVER complain about life in Thailand, having lived in many other countries.. What is there, really, to complain about, except maybe for BEING ALIVE, if you want to complain about THAT! Yes, in truth, sometimes I actually DO complain about being alive, and wish I were dead, instead. And then, I look outside my window in Thailand, and see my friends, the Thai Myna Birds, and their antics soothe my soul, and convince me to go on with being alive. Life is NOT Easy, as we know.... Yet, as we also know, Life is better lived in Thailand. Thailand is a true blessing to everyone, especially troubled souls. I Love Thailand, absolutely, I do, after living in many other countries, for many decades. Thailand is truly the best, in my humble opinion. 6 1

Let us hope that the poster soon finds his best way to return to Thailand, enjoy his life, and contribute in his own way to the people who live here. The best way to feel GREAT (or better), is to contribute while in an environment that causes one to feel truly happy. Happy people, those who are both content and forward thinking, contribute most to our society. (I really do hope that this poster will find a way to return to Thailand, given that he seems justifiably smitten with this wonderful place. Thailand, for so many, is a haven for those who love Asian culture at its best.) Edited January 30, 2022 by GammaGlobulin

But i know that once im on top again it will be beautiful and fun. Its an mental investment and the returns will come. So please try to go for it. It will happen. 4

Morpheus42
Regarding corruption: In Thailand corruption is visible and available for anyone, while in The West corruption is just for the well-connected Elite. I prefer the Thai Style, as we can at least buy our freedom here as "average person", while in The West we are all complete slaves and just the Elite is able to buy themself freedom. 2
