Motorcycle taxi rider arrested for rape of stepdaughter - a Cambodian girl aged just 11

A 53 year old Thai motorcycle taxi rider has been arrested and taken to Bang Khun Thian police station in south western Bangkok after he admitted repeatedly raping his own step daughter.

 

The girl was named only as "A" an 11 year old Cambodian national.

 

The case came to light after a member of the public filed a report to police. Met chief Pol Lt-Gen Samran Nuanma liaised with the Social Development and Human Security ministry and the Children and Women's Welfare Supervision Division of the RTP, reported Siam Rath.

 

Found alone in a house was the victim. Interviewed was a 39 year old Cambodian woman, her mother.

 

Investigations revealed that Phaitoon lived behind the mother and daughter and was the child's legal guardian. 

 

He admitted that from November 2021 he started to sexually molest her when she was alone at her house while her mother was working at a restaurant. 

 

He described in graphic detail the depraved acts committed against the child on at lest 5-6 occasions, the latest being at the end of January. 

 

He has been charged with rape of a minor under 13.

The charge is rape. The law allows for more severe punishment for offences against younger children, so the age of the child is pertinent to the charge.
