A total of 24 customers and employees from a “restaurant” (converted bar) in Hat Yai were captured last night for allegedly organizing partying and drinking to celebrate Valentine’s Day without complying with Covid-19 preventive measures, violating the Provincial Communicable Disease Committee’s order.

Hat Yai police officers arrived at the local restaurant for inspection following local residents’ complaints that the establishment was performing live music loudly that caused noise and disturbance in the neighborhood.

Upon arrival, the restaurant that was operated in a closed building without proper ventilation was filled with a number of customers who were seen eating, drinking alcohol, and dancing along a live performance on stage without following the Covid-19 preventive measures. The place was also reportedly selling liquor, beer, and other alcoholic beverages.

The Feeling - it's a new restaurant just opened (since New Year) on Nuankaew Uthit Rd, Kho Hong. The photos on the local news outlet showed people sitting at tables outside with food and police standing around. But they had the inside open too, with live music, and plenty of people crowded in for Valentine's. They were just stupid to run the music loud, particularly as they were serving alcohol.

All Hat Yai pubs are closed, and alcohol is still banned in restaurants, but there are more than a few that will serve alcohol in coffee mugs or paper cups. But you've got to keep it discreet and socially distanced or you'll get clobbered.

I can see that they have caught the dangerous culprit on picture. Quick, now! Make an arrest and put the bottle where it belongs. In jail!

Oh Yeah! That sounds like a lot of fun. Sneaking with your drinks. Reminds me of being 14 years old and hiding out in the forest so mum and dad couldn´t see what we where doing. However, is it working? Have you done it a lot?

A big no-no in Thailand these days. And to think the country used to attract millions for its fun, party lifestyle. Now people have to go elsewhere instead. Almost anywhere else.
