Popular Post jvs
It is ten past two am right now and i am still up. Not really by choice but the neighbours about 200 meters away are having another Karaoke night and it is FF loud! It started around 8 lastnight and it was not too bad in the beginning but i suspect alcohol is also part of the fun and the screaming keeps getting louder. Now i know there is nothing i can do about it because i am not Thai and maybe i am the only one who is not liking this. Don't get me wrong i have nothing against a party but why does it have to be sooooo FFFF loud! and why keep going after midnight? Probably because they just do not care about any one else and they know they can get away with it. We have other people living around here with small children and i think there must be other who object to this but since this is Thailand you are not going to confront any one. Pretty soon one of them will take out his gun and starts emptying a clip into the air, like he always does. Am i going there and yell at them? They will shoot me and blame it on me ,the dirty farang. Well hope fully it will be over soon so i can get some sleep. Rant over. 5 1 2 2
ChaiyaTH
Move into a high floor condo that is over priced and relatively new, nobody else will move into it. Jokes aside, even there is truth in it, all we can do is move elsewhere right. I am about to move out of a house in BKK where I thought to have found the perfect quiet spot, as the neighbors all really are, doctors and stuff, but the past 6 months I have been kept awake daily until around 4AM at least by dogs barking endlessly, they weren't there in the first 6 months so I am clueless to how they even got here. Just sucks, I used to have some plans on renovating condo's and buying them but even threw those plans out of the door. You never know which ass moves into it next door a year later. Guest Isaanlife
You think a person living in Thailand would expect these kinds of things to happen. If not, read the 1000's of other stories on the same topic of noise.

Popular Post itsari
i remember a house i was staying in for a few nights in Paddington Sydney Australia , A party was in full swing one night in a house three down . Extreme amount of noise that the whole street could hear In the morning all was still from the house when a neighbour turned up there music machine to a high level waking up the revelers . I could see they were complaining bitterly that the music was waking them up but the music continued . I think that is karma in action 6

Exactly what I did. The loudest noise I hear now is the waves gently lapping at the beach and an occasional banana boat upset.

Popular Post lopburi3
Understand not wanting noise at night but it is a friday night after another week in the hell we call Covid so perhaps really do not need everyone to be a quiet church mouse? Better than 'shots fired' we often see reported other places. Perhaps take cheap action to limit the noise? 4

Being Thailand, you can probably buy a sickle at 2 am. Failing that, a giant plastic <deleted> from lower Sukhumvit might be available as an alternative to be brandished (Borat-style).

Popular Post Jerno
Sounds like a legitimate rant. Selfishness seems to be more prevalent in Thai society than most other countries. Knowingly keeping neighbors up at night from loud blasting music clearly shows this. Sad.

Popular Post JAS21
On a different problem, but at least as annoying. We live in a gated community and our house is on the front road. In the Soi,one house down from us an old woman lives who breeds cats. That house backs onto the side of ours. Her front garden looks and smells like a refuse tip. Sometimes the stink is really bad. So frequently we cannot use the patio on that side of our house. And we get a lot of cat poo in our garden. My wife is on the Village Committee, she says several complain about the smell but there doesn’t seem to be much that can be done. Someone mentioned that a saucer of antifreeze can get rid of the smell but I don’t see how. 1

Since private development, not sure if applicable, but at our house build, after we started building, a guy purchased the small lot next to us, and started raising chickens, and it stunk. Wife got puyaibon, district & pollution control involved, and he was shut down, had to clean up, and cover his lot with new dirt. Pretty obvious it was only a ploy to get us to buy him out at an overpriced, nice profit for him. Now he's stuck trying to sell at silly price, so we know we won't have any neighbors on that side of us for decades. As you can buy a rai elsewhere for what he wants to sell 60TW at ????

Andre0720
I am able to sleep in horrific situations like that. I put virgin coconut oil in my ears, then push the oil as far as it can go in my ears with a Scott tissue. Push the tissue in your ears, until it is stuck inside, and you will see the decibel level diminish. Then this might also decrease the level of frustration, since you have done something about it. Sleep well. Works for me...
