Pattaya Music Festival officially postponed until further notice due to rising Covid-19 cases

The Pattaya City Public Relations Department this afternoon (February 24th) confirmed rumors online and officially announced that they have decided to postpone the Pattaya Music Festival due to concerns about rising Covid19 “cases”.

The festival was originally scheduled to be held next month (March).

Pattaya PR stated that due to many confirmed Covid -19 cases in Pattaya and Chonburi, the event has been postponed until the situation improves. They noted that although Chonburi is heavily vaccinated and Pattaya is over 90% vaccinated with plenty of hospital capacity and although serious cases remained incredibly low, as well as deaths, the concern was having an event that would encourage interprovincial travel from areas with more limited resources.

TPN notes that the decision came only days after local officials assured the event would continue. However, Thailand reinforced the fact they are currently on a “Level 4 alert” for Covid-19, which discourages travel and encourages people to STAY HOME, which as a result caused the Interior Ministry and Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) to “request” that major events, regardless of how many Covid-19 precautions were in place, would be canceled or postponed.

No need, they have made a decision most of the local falang residents will be quite happy about.

Land of Yoyo

For weeks "they " were saying "It WILL go ahead regardless of covid ". Practically a guarantee it would not!

Same for Songkran? One can only hope.

I think we're well passed the need for more lockdowns!  If you're scared, stay inside.

Wise, then to be honest, it's not really enjoyable if you know maybe somebody will oass the virus. Let's hope for April!

The pandemic can never be allowed to end.  The commoners must not be allowed to feel happiness and joy as those emotions are reserved for the uber-wealthy.  Although Thailand will not be forced to be a 'dry' country, the elite have driven a silver stake though the heart of night-entertainment and plan to bury it so that it never resurrects.  Commoners purpose now is to solely work and serve the master-class.  No more fun!  And get those masks on to signify your newly assigned social status.  Neo-feudal serfs.  You'll own nothing and who cares if you are happy.  Now get to work.

If they have a restaurant license for the event, why the need to cancel it?  Don't they know, restaurant licenses kill covid.  ????
