You naively assume events outside of the NATO block do not threaten NATO members' well being or security.

 

All threats to NATO and in turn the world at large are external to NATO. Of course Russia's invasion is a major threat to NATO, Europe, and freedom everywhere.

Nor does it prohibit such intervention. But this is utterly irrelevant since it's individual countries who happen to be members of NATO that are providing aid to Ukraine. The aid is not being funneled through NATO.

Russian reservists are likely using "shovels" for "hand-to-hand" combat in Ukraine due to a shortage of ammunition, the UK's Ministry of Defence says.

 

In late February, reservists described being ordered to assault a Ukrainian position "armed with only 'firearms and shovels'", the ministry said in its latest intelligence update.

 

It mentioned a shovel known as MPL-50.

Russia has “wasted huge amounts of human resources, armaments, and materials” during the war in Ukraine, and it will likely run out of offensive potential by late spring, Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with USA Today published on March 5.

Budanov said “a decisive battle” is set to take place this spring, and predicted that “this battle will be the final one before this war ends,” USA Today reported.

It is not all good news:

 

Russia’s relentless assault on Bakhmut is sacrificing waves and waves of unprepared men being sent to their deaths. 

But multiple defenders of this embattled city in Donetsk Oblast feel that they are in a similar boat, according to interviews with more than a dozen soldiers currently fighting in or around Bakhmut. 

During their brief visits to the nearby town of Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian infantrymen told the Kyiv Independent of unprepared, poorly-trained battalions being thrown into the front line meat grinder to survive as best they could with little support from armored vehicles, mortars, artillery, drones and tactical information. 

“We don’t get any support,” says a soldier named Serhiy, who has been fighting on the front lines in Bakhmut, sitting down with his friend, also named Serhiy, for a conversation in a small cafe in the Kostiantynivka market. Both men are in their 40s but one of them is a bit older than the other.

Thats funny, i watched this video on which BBC put a link and he said nothing like that, he said actually opposite. It is true there was a complain about ammunition being under supplied but it was couple of weeks ago and certainly not in the video as of 3rd march.

i am not lying dude, the video is on telegram easy to find, unlike the video BBC reported without any link to actual video. There is article above from UK MOD how russian solders use shovels to fight because lack of ammunition, i mean like really, no shame at all. I am not here to take sides, just pointing out that something is factually incorrect.
