What is Putin blabbering about ? He annexed the Donbas. Now he wants to declare it independent ?

I watched his round table with bloggers a handful of days ago, he appeared to be blabbering there too, didn't look strong at all. He probably has gone senile already.

I think the battle is ferocious and there are heavy casualties on both sides.

I wouldn't be surprised if losses were balanced.

The reason for this is that the West didn't give Ukraine F-16 in time, apparently Ruzzian helos are giving them a hard time. Ukrainian losses would be much less if they had air superiority or at least could defend against the RU helos.

 

The important thing for Ukraine is to breakthrough to Mariupol, Berdiansk or Melitopol, even if they lose half their equipment.

The Ukrainians are true heroes of our time, they are fighting for all of us.

I don't know why everybody loses so much time with this dam demolition.
It's clear the Ruzzians did it, it made sense from a military point of view, I don't see it as being such a big thing compared to the other horrible acts committed by the Ruzzians.

It's just one more item to add to the list of their war crimes, which is already quite long.

Lots of chatter, videos and articles of the latest developments between Wagner and the Russian military on twitter at the moment. Factions of Wagner have entered Rostov-on-Don. Main routes are closed, movement in Moscow with Russian military vehicles in the streets. Oh how I hope a coup would happen, but at the very least this is a significant development.

Russian leaders accused the powerful head of the Wagner mercenary group of an attempted coup on Friday after he vowed to retaliate against the country’s military command for allegedly killing thousands of his fighters.

Officials boosted security in Moscow and launched a criminal investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the paramilitary group that has seen some of the toughest fighting in Ukraine, “on charges of armed mutiny” after he vowed to stop the “evil” of the military leadership.

“Those who destroyed our lads, who destroyed the lives of many tens of thousands of Russian soldiers, will be punished. I ask that no one offer resistance,” Prigozhin said in a series of audio messages on his official Telegram channel.

It is reported that Wagner's column has passed the first checkpoints. They say they are on their way to Novocherkassk, where the army headquarters are. It is also known that a column of 400 vehicles left Millerovo in the direction of Moscow. LINK

it's interesting to note that there are at least 3 factions:

- FSB: hates GRU, Ministry of Defense and Wagner. not sure what military support the FSB has
- GRU and Wagner share a base near Moscow, Russian SSO (Flustikov) was transferred from GRU to MoD. I think it's safe to say Flustikov is friendly to Wagner, otherwise what would be the "point" of securing headquarters ?

- Ministry of Defense: supposedly Putin's faction, so it would also include Rosgvardia

 

and we still haven't heard from the Chechens in the last couple of days

It does. But may be more about different factions making choices after a little shooting. My gut feel is there a whole lot of people in Russia tired of Putin.

 

Reports now that Wagner PMC has taken the downtown of Rostov-on-Dov without any resistance. So Russian military didn't do anything after it had one helicopter shot down. LINK
