They do seem to make up the majority of their casualties in Ukraine recently though, with one estimate saying that 90% of Wagner's casualties since December have been convicts.

BarraMarra Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 To end this GHW mercenaries from around the world including Brits are fighting for Ukraine's forces. They're not mercenaries if they enlist in the Ukraine armed forces and are subject to the same rules as are Ukrainian soldiers. There are also ex soldiers working in the Ukraine on a volunteer basis. If they're not getting paid, then they're not mercenaries.

Western military officials say convicts formed the bulk of Wagner’s force there. About 32,000 have returned from Ukraine, Prigozhin said last week, before his abortive rebellion against the Defense Ministry. Romanova estimated it to be about 15,000 as of early June. Those prisoners agreeing to join Wagner were promised freedom after their service, and President Vladimir Putin recently confirmed that he was “signing pardon decrees” for convicts fighting in Ukraine. Those decrees have not been made public. read the full story: https://news.yahoo.com/ex-convict-returned-war-russian-062212676.html
BarraMarra Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Two Cruise missiles struck a Restaurant and shopping area in Kramatorsk last night around 8 pm killing up to 9 so far including children. Bodies are still being pulled out this morning. President Zelensky has described the attack as an Act of Terror knowing civilians will be out and eating at that time. Yet another war crime committed by the Kremlin Butcher.

Why on earth would you want Ukraine to sink to the same levels of depravity and barbarity? 2 1
spidermike007 Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Wait until they are over a park or less populated area, then shoot them down with shoulder mounted missiles. Few things are more spectacular than a Russian military helicopter falling out of the sky.
Bkk Brian Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Some good news for Ukraine following that so called Russian mutiny: The loss of this aircraft is likely to have a negative impact on Russian air and land operations. In the short term the psychological shock of losing a large number of aircrew in this manner will almost certainly damage morale within the Russian Aerospace Force. In the longer term, there is a possibility that current tasking levels may have to be reduced to safely manage the remaining fleet. This will likely undermine Russia's ability to command and coordinate its forces, particularly during periods of high tempo operations. https://twitter.com/DefenceHQ/status/1674296770250113026 1 1

Doing the same things as the russians did is not the way to go. I can understand how you feel but there are laws and reacting in anger maybe just what the russians need/want to commit even more illegal acts. They would probably be in the same frame of mind as you are now. The court in The Hague will be a busy place. 1

OTH, Ukraine must be able to attack any Russian force or infrastructure that contributes to the war anywhere including in Russia. Many military specialists with Washington's ear have been calling for longer range weapons to do just this, to little avail. Washington has missed important opportunities. When Putin blew up the dam, Ukraine should have been able to permanently destroy the Crimean bridge the next day. Putin would then understand that was one dam too far. 3 3

Biden is doing the same as Obama did, they give small pieces of "candy" but never the all cake under the pretension they don't want upset Russia or want to avoid direct confrontation, Russia keeps repeating the same over and over that they are at war with the EU/NATO and USA, thus by Russia standards there is already direct confrontation, just give Ukraine the long range missiles and the F16's and the Orcs will move back to their country... EU/Nato/USA stop the excuses, either they help or don't help but no more excuses for not giving what has been promised 3 1
