Popular Post ballpoint Posted September 22, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 22, 2023 Ukraine just launched a successful missile attack on the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, in Sevastopol. The Russians are claiming one soldier dead and debris scattered over "hundreds" of metres. Looks like the Ukrainians are making a full on attack on all Russian naval shipping and command centres in Crimea. The Sun reports a Storm Shadow missile was used. If true, wait for the inevitable nuclear threats against the UK by Russia's televisual talking heads. 1 2 1

Storm Shadows, video footage slowed down you can clearly see one making a direct hit. The above has also been verified by the BBC Footage authenticated by BBC Verify shows the moment a Ukrainian missile strike hit the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea fleet in Crimea. A Ukrainian military source told the BBC that Friday's attack was carried out using Storm Shadow missiles, which are supplied by Britain and France. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-66898073 2

Popular Post ballpoint Posted September 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 23, 2023 A Telegraph video of one of the missiles hitting the headquarters. Note the civilians in the foreground watching with no apparent fear for their lives, and then calmy discussing it afterwards. One side purposefully targets civilians, the other goes about the business of attacking the enemy's military, with little to no collateral damage, and those on the ground know it. Ukraine is saying they attacked the headquarters because a high level meeting of Russian naval leaders was taking place there, and that senior commanders were amongst the casualties. 4 1

The MGM-140A contains 950 M74 APAM (Anti-Personnel Anti-Material) submunitions, which are scattered in mid-air during the final stretch of the missile's terminal phase. Depending on how far from the target the missile is set to release its submunitions, they can potentially saturate an area of up to 33 000 m2, with each submunition having a casualty radius of 15 m. The MGM-140B disperses the same M74 submunitions, but carries roughly one-quarter as many. The MGM-168A carries a large unitary warhead designed to greatly increase damage to point targets, while minimizing collateral damage. All three of these warheads are most effective when employed against soft targets. MGM-168A: Replaces submunitions with a 227 kg WDU-18/B unitary high-explosive warhead. Also has a greatly improved range over the MGM-140B. Formerly designated the MGM-140E. https://www.militarytoday.com/missiles/atacms.htm https://missilethreat.csis.org/missile/atacms/ 4 "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!" Tug Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Thanks rimmer I’m sure the Ukrainians will put them to good use!probably not much use in bringing down the Kerch bridge but I’m sure they will be extremely useful in destroying Putin’s logistics and command centers!

Popular Post Rimmer Posted September 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted September 26, 2023 M1 Abrams Tanks Have Arrived In Ukraine The first of Ukraine’s long-awaited American-supplied M1 Abrams main battle tanks have arrived in the country, the U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed to The War Zone. While we don’t know how many of the tanks have been delivered to Ukraine at this point, Washington has committed to sending 31 of the M1A1 versions and these will surely be committed soon to Kyiv’s ongoing counteroffensive. The Pentagon provided The War Zone with the following statement: “As President Zelensky said earlier today, the first batch of the 31 Abrams tanks have arrived in Ukraine. The mere presence of Abrams tanks serves as a potent deterrent. By having these tanks in their arsenal, the Ukrainian Army can more effectively discourage aggressive actions. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/m1-abrams-tanks-have-arrived-in-ukraine 2 1 "Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast!"
